However, one issue: I'm on [this screen](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45512231/ShareX/chrome_2...) which is a track's detail page and another track has started playing, I can't seem to get to the currently playing track's detail page from this...
Also, not sure if you could fix it but Soundcloud's "Genres" is utterly broken, try it, go on Soundcloud's "Charts" page and try ANY genre from the dropdown and all the tracks are just hip-hop/trap. I don't have an issue with hip-hop/trap it's just I don't want to listen to it all the time and I might want to explore the latest indie rock tracks. Maybe you can pull that from last.fm too and fix this? That would make this a daily-use app for me!
I used to love watching mans1ay3r's videos, amazing level of creativity and hard work required to assemble all the voice clips! I can only imagine what hilarity would come from a fully fledged voice-splicing application!
I got an email about being added to this repo a few weeks ago, thought nothing of it and just assumed it was a bug that I got subscribed to notifications. This morning I got the same email, thought nothing of it again.
I assume so, comments sections probably aren't designed to handle the speed at which messages were coming in. I saw many comments saying people had unsubscribed and were still receiving notifications.
Tweetdeck used to have this feature, there was a "Home" option on the row at the bottom of the user profile modal. I was disappointed when it was removed, it was a super useful feature and worked on desktop!
I can definitely relate! Faces and text just blur and morph in strange ways but all other characteristics are fine. I've always assumed (like Blake in the article) this was normal!
I'm so glad this exists going into my next term involving a lot of maths that I just don't fundamentally understand; sure I can remember a set of rules after boring revision of sequences of instructions but I hate that.
I asked what a "dot product" _meant_ once and was just told how it could be used to determine these other values. I later learnt what it actually was by reading some renderer library code.
I had a similar "aha" moment when I read how you described sine/cosine/etc as percentage values in relation to positions around the circle. I hate how I was taught maths since secondary school (when I was so confused at trig/pythag lessons but learnt the concepts very quickly when I was coding around with positions and angles in a game engine mod to get a position x units in front of a character instead of doing homework)
I really think this site will help me in the coming year, thank you!
Well there are some things that a lot of computer software VSTs cannot do unless they are specifically programmed to do so (due to how frequency modulation works digitally). There are no oscillators in digital synthesis and modulating parameters in audible frequencies isn't as simple as just plugging an audio source into a CV port.
The beauty of modular is being able to modulate any unit parameter with any signal source at whatever speed you like.
"Well there are some things that a lot of computer software VSTs cannot do unless they are specifically programmed to do so"
That describes every problem that a computer might be called upon to solve.
The state of analog synthesizer modeling is very, very good, including emulating modular synths (Arturia, Native Instruments, and many others produce competent modular emulators). I say this as someone that has owned a number of analog synths, and, if I had the space for them (I live in a travel trailer) would still own them. Nonetheless, the notion that there are sounds unique to analog synths is mostly superstition at this point.
It is fun to play with it in hardware. But, it is not necessary to play with it in hardware.
