I had similar needs. I don't like that telemetry is on by default and you can only disable it by manually editing the config JSON (whilst service's stopped). I have encountered bugs in past versions but nothing recent stands out. Having full control of our data, unlimited history, slack-compatible integrations with 3rd party notification services and our own, easy upgrades, and no downtime when Internet's out (in-office server) has been great. Overall a positive experience.
